Re-use. Reimagined.
Taking a long hard look at our own manufacturing impact, in 2021 at the tail end of COVID we started producing Ecoffee Cup Nova in County Wicklow, Ireland – cutting our CO2 emissions associated with manufacturing and shipping by over 40%. Nova currently represents almost 50% of our production and is growing each year.
Made in Ireland with up-cycled Scandinavian raw materials.
Ecoffee Cup Nova.
What is Nova?
A continued focus on innovative materials and sustainable production has led to the creation of Nova – produced in Ireland from a Scandinavian biopolymer created with up-cycled vegetable oil and sawmill tailings – making it one of the lowest CO2 reusable products in its class. A 40% reduction in CO2 (compared with our previous products) is just the beginning.
Who’s using Nova?
With its sustainability credentials and Irish origin, many high-profile cafes have started using Nova as a replacement for single-use. Bread 41, an award-winning Dublin cafe and bakery, stopped single-use to-go cups in February 2023 – implementing a deposit-based, re-use program with Nova. More than 40,000 single-use cups have been saved from landfill and customer adoption of the program has been seamless and successful – with to-go coffee sales increasing since its introduction.
