When Ola Cafe owners Stacey and Martin first opened their doors for business this year, they wanted to “push the boundaries of what a coffee shop could be.”
Straight off the bat, the couple implemented a reusable coffee cup program with Ecoffee Cup, giving customers the choice to drink in or pay a deposit for a co-branded Ecoffee Cup.
The independent coffee shop in Twyford received overwhelmingly positive customer feedback regarding the program, one which completely removes the need for single-use cups.
Coupled with other sustainable practices, like recycled coffee grounds used in the cafe garden and edible cups, Ola recently won Brita’s highly coveted Grounds of Innovation Award 2024.
“It’s a huge honour to be recognised for our commitment to creativity and sustainability,” Stacey and Martin said.
“Our goal has always been to offer a unique and memorable experience for our customers, and this award is a testament to that.
“From our Californian-inspired brunch menu to our eco-friendly reusable or edible cups, we’re passionate about pushing the boundaries of what a coffee shop can be.”
Ola use Ecoffee Cup Nova as part of their reusable coffee cup program. Made in Ireland and one of the lowest CO2 emitting reusables in its class, Nova is designed for cafes and corporates looking to reduce their impact and minimise costs.
